Time, Space and the Number 86

Time and space are represented by the point and the line; the infinitesimal point is the present from which the infinite line reaching to the endless past and extending into the limitless future is formed. The line can be broken down into infinite points. The secret of the point is the curve—the sign of contraction from all sides is the circle.

These two fundamental geometric structures, the straight line and the curved constitute the entirety of creation; theoretically we are told that if a line is extended to infinity it will come back to itself as a curve reflecting the non-linear characteristic of space-time travel. The point is endemically round due to the equal pressure being applied from all sides rendering a circular formation that both serves as an external barrier between creation and the light of the Creator and an internal definitive point of creation represented as the atom. In between the atom and the universe is an array of infinite lines of light called stars.

In the Hebrew language this idea of line and circle is replicated in the two basic names of creation: YHVH and Elohim. The YHVH through the virtue of these letters being recombined to make the three stages of time: Huya/Past; Huva/Present and Yehiya/Future all included in one word—YHVH while Elohim literally means: many gods. Each line of light delivers to the world spiritual sustenance and therefore is deemed a god because it represents the Finger of god.

This primordial relationship between the circle and line is portrayed in human sexuality where the woman’s sex is called: HaMokem/The Place and the male sex termed HaMilah/The Thing and all life is a replication of the line and the circle. God is also called by the name Hamokem/The Place meaning that God is present throughout the circle of creation being beyond the confines of time and space.

The name Elohim is representative of plurality through the ending conjunction: Yom/Sea; creation is the line of space passing through the sea of time. When a stick is thrust into the water the resulting line becomes skewed. The skewing of the line represents the manner in which the spirit worlds are hidden from the earth through what is commonly called: Teva/Nature. In Hebrew the Name Elohim has the same Gematria/Number Value as the word HaTeva/The Nature; the word Hatevah can also be Habeya/Sunken.

Part of the ancient seaman’s lexicon was the expression: 86 it, meaning—throw it overboard. Through the ages this expression has remained as a term of rejection; being eighty-sixed in San Francisco bars means: don’t come back. So much of our time on this planet is focused on navigating the unsafe waters of life, trying to escape the inundating floods or slippery slope; most human endeavor involves trying to beat nature at her game.

Although the only game in town is time and space, the line and the curve, there is one thing that trumps all cards—freedom of choice because it is only in the darkness and confusion of infinite points and possibilities that true freedom is obtained.
With every atom of our existence we reflect the skewed lines of creation from the bottom of the temporal ocean where time is counted in terrestrial ticks revolving around the sun.
